Greater Lehigh Therapy Dogs was formed in 1999 with a starting membership of 10-15 people. We have grown to over 75 members . We are a dedicated group of volunteers with certified therapy dogs. We enjoy sharing
our dogs' unconditional love with others in an effort to lift spirits. Warm fur, a wagging tail and a wet tongue are the perfect prescription for a smile. We service over 25 facilities on a regular monthly basis. Visits are made during the day and
at night as appropriate. The facilities we visit are located throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. Volunteers from our chapter go to visits that fit their schedules. There is no minimum number of visits requirement. Everyone does
what they can. We have general meetings every other month, an annual picnic, and an annual Christmas Party.
In addition to regularly scheduled visits, we also do special events such as:
Girl Scout / Brownie Troops, Festivals, Youth Groups, Pet Fairs,
Nursery Schools, Parades, Pet Stores, Lions Clubs, Summer Fairs
We are also in partnership with St. John's Hospice
